the moment 用作连词

the moment 是个名词词组，但是在句子中它也可以用作连词。例如：

• Everybody stops chatting the moment the teacher walks in.
• The moment the cameras are turned off,  he is relaxed.

以上两个句子中的 the moment 相当于 when

类似的还有 the minute, the second, the instant 等。例如：

• The instant we feel anger we have already ceased striving for the truth, and have begun striving for ourselves.
• We go to heave the instant we die.
• The minute we are born, we begin dying.
• The second he saw his mother he cried.
